After competing in six events in nine days and earning a pair of bronze medals at the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics, Prince Albert’s Brittany Hudak has been named the Sask Sport Athlete of the Month for March.
Hudak raced to a third-place finish in the women’s standing 15-kilometre cross country event with a time of 49 minutes and 27.8 seconds to win her first bronze of the Paralympics. Her second bronze medal came in the women’s standing 12.5-km biathlon racewith a time of 49:01.
In addition to the podium visits, Hudak finished in the top ten in the six-km and 10-km women’s standing biathlon events and was seventh across the finish line in the 10-km cross country race. On the final day of Paralympic Games, she teamed up Brian McKeever in the 4×2.5-km Nordic relay. The duo skied to a sixth-place finish.
The games capped off a successful racing season for Hudak. In December, she won several medals at the Para Nordic Skiing World Cup stop held in Canmore Alberta, where she lives and trains.
Hudak is a three-time Paralympian. She won a bronze medal at the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics.
Hudak was nominated by SASKI Skiing for Disabled. She was the lone nominee in March.
