Trusted swimming official, Marni Caldwell, honoured with Volunteer Recognition Award

A master official, meet referee, Hytek software lead, Sanction Chair and a member of the Swim Saskatchewan Board of Directors, Marni Caldwell has done it all. Caldwell is one of six individuals honoured with a Volunteer Recognition Award in the 2020 Saskatchewan Sport Awards.

She was nominated by Swim Saskatchewan.

In a regular swim season, Caldwell teaches a minimum of four official’s clinics and officiates at a minimum of five meets including year-round age group meets, masters and summer club meets. As Hytek software lead, she ensures knowledge is shared with other volunteers and coaches and keeps the software up to date and ready for meets.

A positive energy at the pool, Caldwell is described as respectful, approachable and attentive to the coaches, athletes and organizers.

Each day this week, two recipients from the six long-serving volunteers and the four dedicated and decorated coaches honoured as recipients of the 2020 Saskatchewan Sport Awards will be featured through tribute videos on Sask Sport and the Coaches Association of Saskatchewan’s website and social media channels.
