Sask Sport is proud to announce 10 recipients of 2020 Saskatchewan Sport Awards.
Six long-serving volunteers and four dedicated and decorated coaches were honoured in the group. With restrictions on the athletic season because of the COVID-19 pandemic, only the volunteer and coach dedication categories were awarded in 2020. The annual awards program honours the hard work and dedication of those in the province’s amateur sport community.
Each day this week, two recipients will be featured through tribute videos on Sask Sport and the Coaches Association of Saskatchewan’s website and social media channels.

“We are so proud and thankful for the 10 volunteers and coaches announced as recipients of the 2020 Saskatchewan Sports Awards,” said Angella Pinay, Chair of the Sask Sport and Sask Lotteries Board of Directors. “These individuals have worked tirelessly for our amateur sport communities for many years. Without dedicated volunteers and coaches, Saskatchewan communities wouldn’t have the opportunity to participate in organized sports. The accomplishments they each have achieved are incredible. Sport has the power to connect us and give us a sense of belonging. These recipients have helped contribute to that and for that we thank you.”
Nominees for the Saskatchewan Sport Awards were submitted by active and affiliate members of Sask Sport. Recipients were selected by a Sask Sport awards committee.
The Saskatchewan Sport Awards are supported by Sask Lotteries, the main fundraiser for sport, culture and recreation groups in Saskatchewan. Every year, proceeds from Sask Lotteries support more than 12,000 non-profit groups that support activities and opportunities that help all participants of all ages and abilities to play, create and grow.
