Sask Sport and Sask Lotteries are deeply saddened by the loss of board member Murray Stroeder.
Known as a passionate sport volunteer, Stroeder joined the Board of Directors in 2018 after being nominated by CURLSASK. He was currently serving as Vice Chair for Lotteries.
“Murray was committed to sport and volunteering,” said Chair of the Sask Sport Board of Directors Angella Pinay. “He was a tremendous advocate for Saskatchewan’s amateur sport community and dedicated himself to giving back. We are so thankful for his time on our board and are thinking of Murray’s family, friends, and CURLSASK during this difficult time.”
Prior to joining the Sask Sport Board of Directors, Stroeder spent three years on the board for CURLSASK and four years on the board of Curl Moose Jaw. A high school curling coach, official and athlete at the competitive and club level, Stroeder officiated three provincial curling events and won as an athlete at three different levels of provincial play downs. Stroeder has served on many sport boards in Moose Jaw including minor hockey, little league baseball, figure skating and golf.
