Sask Sport mourns the loss of former Indigenous Sport Leadership Council Chair and Sport Committee member, Glenn Lafleur.
For Lafleur, a constant in his life was his dedication to the Métis community and ensuring he played a role in strengthening sport on behalf of his community.
In service of that goal, Lefleur was the Métis Nation Saskatchewan’s (MN-S) representative on the Indigenous Sport Leadership Council (ISLC) from 2019-2024 and he chaired the Council in 2022.
The ISLC was developed to assist the Sask Sport Board of Directors with directing Indigenous participation throughout province. In his role, Lefleur acted as a go between for the Council and MN-S, while also bringing his perspective to the ISLC.
He also served on Sask Sport’s Sport Committee from 2022-24.
