Breaking a 35-year-old Saskatchewan sprint record has crowned Prince Albert’s Karson Lehner Sask Sport’s February Athlete of the Month.

The 33.07 time also set a Canada West Championship record. Saskatoon Olympian Cyprian Enweani previously held the Saskatchewan record with a time of 33.50.
At the Canada West Track & Field Championship, Lehner also won a silver medal in the 60-metre dash and received the Outstanding Performance of the Meet – Male award. He was also named the Canada West Male Track Athlete of the Year.
Earlier in the month, Lehner won gold in the 300-metre race at the Panda Open, a track and field meet hosted by the University of Alberta in Edmonton.
A University of Saskatchewan student and Huskie Athletics athlete, Lehner’s results at the Canada West championship qualified him for the U Sports national championship that were held at the beginning of March. Lehner was nominated for the Athlete of the Month Award by Saskatchewan Athletics
