Pink Shirt Day

On February 26, join Sask Sport and other organizations across the country in adding to the conversation surrounding Pink Shirt Day.

The day is meant to raise awareness about bullying prevention in every area of society, including sport. Originating in 2007, David Shepherd and Travis Price — a pair of Grade 12 students in Berwick, Nova Scotia — handed out numerous pink shirts to support a Grade 9 student who was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. Since, Pink Shirt Day has become symbolic of creating an inclusive and kind space for all.

In recognition of the day’s initiative and Sask Sport’s goal to support a safe and inclusive environment every day of the year, a Dare to Care – Coach & Management Workshop is taking place February 26 at 6:00 p.m. and March 1 at 11:00 a.m.
