Across the nation, from April 27 – May 3, the dedication of volunteers will be celebrated under the theme of ‘Volunteers Make Waves.” Volunteers’ commitment to the community creates a wave of impact that is felt in all areas of amateur sport.
Sask Sport knows volunteers bring heart to the communities in this province. As part of the celebration, we are saying thank you to the more than 330,000 volunteers in Saskatchewan, who help make sport, culture and recreation possible.
If you know of a volunteer who you think should be recognized for their dedication over the years, consider nominating them for the Saskatchewan Sport Awards Volunteer Dedication Award.
During National Volunteer Week, follow Sask Sport’s website and @SaskSport on social media channels as we celebrate some of the incredible volunteers from the province’s amateur sport system.
To assist our members and their programs in recognizing volunteers within their organizations, Sask Sport has created assets including social media templates and thank-you cards that can be distributed during the week.
When thanking volunteers on social media, organizations are encouraged to use the hashtags: #VolunteersMakeWaves, #NVW2025
