National Volunteer Week April 16-22

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the amateur sport community. From April 16-22, the dedication of volunteers will be recognized in the province and across the country during National Volunteer Week. The national theme for this year is “weaving us together”.

Sask Sport knows volunteers bring heart to the communities in this province. As part of the celebration Sask Sport is saying thank you to the more than 330,000 volunteers in Saskatchewan, who help make sport, culture and recreation activities possible.

If you know of a volunteer who you think should be recognized for their dedication over the years, consider nominating them for the Saskatchewan Sport Awards Volunteer Dedication Award.

During National Volunteer Week, follow Sask Sport’s website and @SaskSport on social media channels as we celebrate some of our incredible volunteers.

To assist our members and their programs in recognizing volunteers within their organizations, Sask Sport has created assets including social media templates, email thank you notes and thank-you cards, that can be distributed during the week.

When thanking volunteers on social media, organizations are encouraged to use the hashtags: #NVW2023, #WeavingUsTogerher.
