Volunteers are a vital part of the foundation that makes up Saskatchewan’s amateur sport community. From April 14-20, celebrated under the theme of “Every Moment Matters,” volunteers will be recognized nationwide for their contributions. Volunteers are the heartbeat that keeps sport in the province alive.
Sask Sport knows that every second a volunteer gives to the community, an innumerable number of individuals feel the impact. As part of the celebration, Sask Sport, along with Sask Lotteries is saying thank you to the volunteers in Saskatchewan, who help make the 12,000 lottery-funded sport, culture and recreation activities possible.
If you know of a volunteer who you think should be recognized for their dedication over the years, consider nominating them for the Saskatchewan Sport Awards Volunteer Dedication Award.
During National Volunteer Week, follow Sask Sport’s website and @SaskSport on social media channels as we celebrate some of our incredible volunteers.
To assist our members and their programs in recognizing volunteers within their organizations, Sask Sport has created assets including social media templates, email thank you notes and thank-you cards, that can be distributed during the week.
When thanking volunteers on social media, organizations are encouraged to use the hashtags: #NVW2024, #EveryMomentMatters.
