CBC Sports and Olympic/Paralympic reporter Devin Heroux to emcee Saskatchewan Sport Awards

40th Annual Saskatchewan Sport Awards

The 40th Annual Saskatchewan Sport Awards in Saskatoon will celebrate homegrown talent with hometown CBC Sports and Olympic and Paralympic reporter Devin Heroux.

The January event will include the awards gala, which will recognize the achievements and dedication of individuals in the amateur sport community, as well as the breakfast panel which will focus on the experience of different cultures in sport with lessons and information to create a welcoming and fun sport environment for all.

Celebrations will begin on Jan. 30 with the Saskatchewan Sport Awards and be followed the next morning by the Multiculturalism in Sport breakfast on Jan. 31. Both events will be at Prairieland Park and hosted by Heroux.

An award-winning journalist, Heroux has travelled the world covering a myriad of sporting events for CBC Sports and News. He recently returned from his fourth consecutive Olympic and Paralympic Games, bringing audiences live coverage from the ground in Paris, including historical moments from Saskatchewan athletes in action.

Nominations for the awards are still open, with the Recognition Awards category closing on Nov. 1 at 11:59 p.m. and the Excellence Awards category closing on Dec. 20 at 11:59 p.m.
