Canadian Junior gymnast Amy Jorgensen earns November Athlete of the Month

Selected to attend international events with the Gymnastics Canada Junior National Team, Amy Jorgensen had top eight finishes in the all-around event and won a silver medal on the beam to be awarded the November Athlete of the Month.  

Competing for the first time in person since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and for the first time as a member of the Junior National team, Jorgensen travelled to Combs La Ville, France in mid-November to compete at the Tournoi International event with Team Canada. She placed seventh in the all-around competition, 14th on vault and beam, as well as 12th on bars and floor.

The next week, Jorgensen competed at the Top Gym 2021 with Canada in Charleroi, Belgium where she won a silver medal on beam. She also finished fourth on the floor and in the all-around competition.

Jorgensen also competed in the Gymnastics Canada Technical Trials Virtual Event in the month. She finished first on the floor, second in all-around and beam, as well as third on vault and bars. The event was part of the Gymnastics Canada carding process.

Jorgensen was nominated for the Athlete of the Month Award by Gymnastics Saskatchewan.
