Saskatchewan WT Association – Executive Director
The Saskatchewan WT Association (Sask WT) is seeking a motivated and highly organized individual to fill the position of Executive Director, to support the growth and administration of WT Taekwondo across Saskatchewan.
Sask WT is a non‑profit organization committed to the development, safety, and long-term sustainability of World Taekwondo, its athletes, coaches, instructors, and officials. Our mission is to provide leadership, transparency, and support to ensure the sport continues to thrive across the province.
About the Position
- Part-time contract (approx. 20 hrs/week)
- Remote (laptop provided)
- Non-voting, ex-officio member of the Board
- Monthly compensation discussed during the interview process
The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors to manage operations, finances, communications, and strategic initiatives. This role requires strong administrative abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities independently.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Governance
- Implement and monitor the Strategic Plan and annual work plans
- Organize and attend monthly Board meetings (via Zoom)
Financial Management
- Prepare and oversee annual budgets
- Manage payments, receipts, GST/PST files, and secure investment of funds
- Handle insurance and tax-related payments
Budgeting & Audit
- Prepare Sask Sport budget submissions
- Deliver quarterly financial statements to Sask WT and STI boards
- Assist with annual audits and year-end financial processes
Grants & Funding Programs
- Process MAP and Target grant applications and payments
- Collect follow-up reports and meet all funding deadlines
Membership Administration
- Collect annual membership lists and fees
- Process Taekwondo Canada memberships on time
Office & Records Management
- Respond promptly to emails and calls
- Maintain accurate correspondence and administrative records
- Manage athlete, liability, and premises insurance programs
Events & Communications
- Support administrative and promotional needs for Sask WT‑sanctioned events
- Keep the Board informed of policies, programs, and services
- Support website and social media communications
Liaison & Partnerships
- Maintain communication with Sask Sport representatives
- Attend Sask Sport meetings and provide required info
- Liaise with Taekwondo Canada, Sask Sport, and Saskatchewan Taekwondo Inc.
Qualifications
Required
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, or bookkeeping
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and basic digital tools
- Ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines
Preferred
- Experience working in non-profit organizations or sport administration
- Familiarity with grant or funding programs (e.g., Sask Sport)
- Experience preparing budgets or collaborating with accounting services
- Understanding of WT Taekwondo or martial arts communities
- Experience supporting boards or committees
