Compensation: $33,000 – $36,000 Honorarium
Hours: Approximately 25 hours per week (flexible schedule)

About Sask Wrestling
The Saskatchewan Amateur Wrestling Association (Sask Wrestling) is the provincial governing body for amateur wrestling in Saskatchewan. Sask Wrestling is committed to developing athletes, coaches, officials, and clubs through quality programming that promotes excellence, inclusion, and long-term athlete development.

Sask Wrestling is seeking a highly motivated and experienced High Performance Coach to join the Provincial HP Coaching Team. This contract position is supported through the High Performance Coaching Capacity Grant (HPCCG) administered by Sask Sport.

Working under the direction of the VP Technical and the Executive Director will assist in the development and delivery of province-wide high-performance programming, athlete identification initiatives, and coach development opportunities.

You will lead a modern, system-based high-performance program aligned with:

  • Wrestling Canada Lutte
  • Sask Sport High Performance standards
  • Long-Term Development principles

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Saskatchewan’s high-performance wrestling pathway
  • Design and deliver a structured provincial HP program
  • Oversee annual high-performance planning, reporting, and evaluation
  • Develop a strong daily training environment across the province
  • Identify, track and develop athletes using Gold Medal Profile benchmarks and Sask Sport tracking tools
  • Plan and lead training camps, competitions, and performance pathways
  • Mentor coaches and support the provincial coach development system
  • Collaborate with sport science and performance service providers
  • Provide written reports and attend High Performance Committee meetings as requested as an advisor

  • An experienced wrestling coach with high-performance expertise
  • Knowledgeable in athlete development pathways and national competition systems
  • Skilled in planning, performance tracking, and program design
  • A strong collaborator and leader within a multi-club system
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to Safe Sport principles and adherence to the Sask Wrestling Coach Code of Conduct.
  • Passionate about developing athletes and growing the sport in Saskatchewan

Qualifications

  • NCCP Competition Development Certified or actively working toward certification with an approved development plan
  • Minimum three (3) years of coaching experience working with high-performance athletes.
  • Strong understanding of Wrestling Canada Lutte athlete development standards and pathways.
  • Current Criminal Record Check EPIC (within six months of hire).
  • Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders certification.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Access to reliable transportation and a satisfactory driving abstract.
  • Membership in good standing with Sask Wrestling and Wrestling Canada Lutte.
  • Residency within Saskatchewan and eligible to work in Canada
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel extensively throughout Saskatchewan and nationally.
  • Must not serve on the Sask Wrestling Board of Directors or Sask Sport Board during the contract term.
