STAFFING DESCRIPTION AND DETAILS
Gymnastics Saskatchewan is an organization in motion, building on over 50 years of movement, growth, and service to the gymnastics community. As we continue to develop and implement updated policies, programs, and operational strategies in alignment with Project 2032, this role offers the opportunity to be part of a collaborative team actively shaping what comes next.

Under the direction of and in collaboration with the CEO and DOO, and in cooperation with other staff, coaches, officials, committees and volunteers, the Manager of Technical Programs shall be responsible for leading and supervising a team of staff and volunteers to achieve the mission, vision, goals and objectives of Gymnastics Saskatchewan’s technical programs and high-performance plans.

Responsibilities for the position include oversight of Gym Sask’s technical program operations (e.g., planning, implementation, coordination, evaluation) from the pre-competitive to high performance levels for club development, officials’ certification/education, and athlete development for all Olympic gymnastics disciplines (Men’s and Women’s Artistic, Trampoline, Rhythmic).

While the position includes defined core responsibilities, duties may evolve over time in response to new initiatives, shifting priorities, and organizational needs. The successful candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic, team-based environment, bringing a positive approach to change and a willingness to support colleagues as the organization continues to grow. DIRECT REPORTS
The Program Coordinators and High-Performance Coaches for the disciplines of Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG), Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG), Trampoline Gymnastics (TG), and Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG) shall report directly to this position.

HOURS OF WORK
The Manager of Technical Programs is a full-time position with flexible hours. Evening and weekend work is required.

LOCATION
This position is based in the Gym Sask office (Regina – Mosaic Stadium, or Saskatoon – Sask Sport office). Travel and use of a car required.

COMPENSATION
Salary range is $66,000-74,000 annually, commensurate with experience. This position also includes full benefits including: RRSP contribution, medical/dental/disability insurance, vacation/sick leave, professional development opportunities, and a flexible work environment.

TECHNICAL PROGRAMS GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

  • To oversee the development and administration of technical programs for our members at the pre-competitive and competitive levels by directly supervising each program manager/HP coach.
  • To lead, support, and develop all direct reports (program coordinators and HP coaches), ensuring they have the guidance, mentorship, and resources needed to achieve individual and collective outcomes.
  • To ensure the integration of sport science principles and practices across all disciplines to enhance athlete development, performance, and wellness.
  • To maintain a visible presence within the membership by regularly visiting high performance clubs, training environments, and competitive events to strengthen relationships and provide ongoing support.
  • To ensure that all competitive athletes will have a place to participate and gain personal success.
  • To provide opportunities for clubs and members (competitive athletes, coaches, officials) to access quality programs for competition and high-performance development.
  • To select the best possible Saskatchewan team representatives for regional, national and international events and provide preparation support for optimal performance.
  • To provide opportunities for members to access technically sound and progressive provincial, regional, national and international competitive programs and events.
  • To establish and enforce quality control technical policies and procedures for clubs and members in each discipline.
  • To provide professional assistance, resources, and education for efficient and viable technical operations for each discipline.
  • To provide programs for professional development, mentorship and competition opportunities to competitive coaches at all levels to increase their technical knowledge and expertise.
  • To provide programs for professional development, certification, and competition opportunities for officials in all disciplines and to recognize volunteer officials at all levels.
  • To provide technical leadership to and within the gymnastics and sporting community in Saskatchewan and Canada.

PROVINCIAL TEAM SUPPORT

  • Responsible for booking travel and entries for provincial team competitions, training camps and other major competitive program events, with support from each program coordinator.
  • Prepare budgets for Team Sask competitions/camps.
  • Track inventory of all provincial team uniforms and track suit items, working in conjunction with the DOO.
  • Ensuring provincial teams are selected as per the program documents, and support program coordinators to ensure:
    • Event entries and fees are submitted by the appropriate deadline
    • Team Managers and support staff have been secured
    • Provincial team members have been appropriately screened
