Indigenous Community Sport Development Grant Program

The purpose of the Indigenous Community Sport Development Grant Program is to provide greater sport participation and development opportunities for Indigenous youth in Saskatchewan, especially youth living in urban, rural, on-reserve, isolated and northern communities.

The grant is designed to support the development and implementation of community sport programs.

Eligible communities can access the grant program, which is funded by Sport Canada Aboriginal Participation and the Sask Lotteries Trust Fund for Sport, Culture and Recreation. It is also supported by the Government of Canada and the Province of Saskatchewan through the General Participation and Indigenous Participation Bilateral Agreements.

For eligibility requirements, refer to the program guidelines at the bottom of this page and/or contact a support organization listed on Page 3 of the Community Sport for Children and Youth Planning Toolkit. Completing this workbook and the worksheets will assist you with the grant application process for this grant as well as other funding programs.

If you are an organization or community group located in Saskatoon or Regina, and are interested in applying for the program, please reference the guidelines and forms below. Eligible organizations in Saskatoon and Regina are encouraged to apply directly to Sask Sport throughout the year.

Rural applicants are encouraged to contact their District representative to determine the deadline dates in their respective area.
