In 2025, the estate of Eugene Albert Joseph Dupuis made a significant donation to the Dream Brokers program, which currently operates out of 19 schools across the province. It was his wish to donate to Dream Brokers in support of children, youth and their families who face barriers to participation in sport, culture and recreation programs.
Giving and supporting others was in Eugene’s nature. For many years he grew a garden and donated most of the harvest to the Prince Albert Food Bank. He was also an active member of the St. Agatha’s RC church community in Shellbrook and volunteered his time with the youth group and Big Brothers Big Sisters Association.
Eugene loved being active. He participated in cross-country and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, biking and enjoyed long walks. Eugene believed in the positive impact of physical activity and wanted to provide opportunities to kids who face the biggest barriers to entry.
The Dream Brokers program aims to offer a wide variety of programs and support to ensure kids find the best fit. In 2024, over 2,300 kids participated, with 3,350 sport, culture and recreation programs accessed.
Eugene passed away on January 2, 2023, in Prince Albert.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Eugene Dupuis and his family.
