Tribal Council and First Nations Coordinator Program
The Tribal Council and First Nations Sport, Culture and Recreation Coordinator Program exists to build capacity within Indigenous communities to increase access to, and participation in, sport, culture and recreation — ultimately contributing to increased quality of life and grassroots development.
Fourteen full-time Coordinators participate in the program to support 74 First Nation communities in the province.
The Coordinators actively work with other delivery partners to facilitate relationships, build capacity and increase access to sport, culture and recreation programming. The program is also in place to support team development for the Tony Cote Summer and Winter Games — annually supporting the participation of approximately 3,500 athletes, coaches and volunteers.
