Volunteers: a special thank you

A thank you just never seems like enough.

Volunteers are the heartbeat and foundation of our lottery-funded sport system and during National Volunteer Week — April 18-24 — we want to be sure to say ‘thank you’ over and over!

Nobody understands how important the dedication, hard work and passion that is put into the amateur sport community in Saskatchewan more than volunteers. Thousands of volunteers from board members to medical staff, coaches to schedulers, officials to announcers, dedicate time and efforts daily. To all of you — we say Thank You!

Without these dedicated, passionate and special individuals, sport, simply, wouldn’t happen.  Sport has the power to connect us and give us a sense of belonging. It teaches so many life lessons that participants benefit from throughout life. Our volunteers have contributed to ensure that sport becomes, truly, more than a game.

This week, Sask Sport will feature different volunteers from Saskatchewan’s amateur sport community. You will learn about why volunteers make a difference to sport daily, the benefits of volunteering and why those involved continue to give time to amateur sport in the province.

Follow along with us as we celebrate those individuals who make amateur sport tick.

Thank you for all you do in for amateur sport in Saskatchewan.
