Sask Sport is partnering with Saskatchewan’s seven Sport, Culture and Recreation districts to offer free virtual Women and Leadership workshops, covering eight unique topics, throughout October and November 2022. The workshops will run every Tuesday at 7 p.m. (SK time) starting October 11.
Effective Communication – Tuesday, October 11
Communication is the foundation for better job performance and relationship building. Participants will learn new communication strategies.
Effective Networking – Tuesday, October 18
From building organizational partnerships to knowing of upcoming events, building your network is a long-term investment. Learn how, here!
Women on Boards – Tuesday, October 25
Learn the value and importance of gender equity and gender parity on Boards. Attendees will learn how to find the board position for them.
Leading with Confidence – Tuesday, November 1
Participants will explore the experiences of leaders, reflect on the value of sport and physical activity in their leadership journey.
Conflict Management – Tuesday, November 8
Conflict is an inevitable part of our lives. This workshop will ensure participants can understand and resolve conflict professionally.
Leading the Way LGBTQI2S Inclusion – Tuesday, November 15
This workshop provides sport leaders, including coaches, athletes, officials, with the opportunity to understand what LGBTQphobia is and how it can hurt their organization. From understanding lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex and two spirit (LGBTQI2S) language and dealing with sensitive issues such as same-sex relationships amongst teammates, to reviewing policies and practices to ensure they are equitable, this session allows for an open and honest conversation about LGBTQphobia and the important role sport leaders, including coaches, can play in making sport more accepting of sexual and gender diversity.
Influencing Change – Tuesday, November 22
Whether influencing change in an organization, across the sport system, or more broadly, this workshop offers theory and tools for success.
Life Balance – Tuesday, November 29
Balancing the demands of work, family, and more is a challenge. This workshop will provide participants with effective balance strategies.
